JALINGO, TARABA STATE
EcoUnity Initiative has successfully conducted a Climate Education and Tree Planting Campaign at UMCN Junior Seminary, Jalingo, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and youth engagement in climate action.
The event brought together students, educators, environmental advocates, and volunteers for an interactive learning experience focused on climate change, environmental responsibility, and sustainable living. Participants were equipped with practical knowledge on the causes and effects of climate change and the role individuals can play in protecting the environment.
A major highlight of the event was the tree-planting exercise, which provided students with an opportunity to translate knowledge into action. The activity emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship and encouraged students to take responsibility for preserving and protecting natural resources within their communities.
Speaking during the event, the Founder of EcoUnity Initiative, Dofa Francis, noted that empowering young people with climate knowledge is essential to building resilient and sustainable communities.
He explained that environmental challenges such as deforestation, soil erosion, and climate change require collective action and that schools provide an important platform for nurturing environmentally conscious leaders.
The initiative seeks to inspire students to become advocates for environmental sustainability by promoting climate awareness, responsible environmental practices, and community participation.
EcoUnity Initiative remains committed to expanding its climate education and environmental action programs across schools and communities in Taraba State and beyond. The organization welcomes partnerships, sponsorships, volunteers, and collaborations from individuals and organizations interested in advancing environmental sustainability and climate action.
