The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has publicly declared his support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing improvements in security, infrastructure, and ongoing economic reforms under the current administration.
Bwacha made the declaration in Jalingo during the official unveiling of Engr. Aminu Zakari as his running mate for the forthcoming Taraba State governorship election.
Speaking at the event, the former senator said President Tinubu's efforts to tackle insecurity, execute critical infrastructure projects across the country, including Taraba State, and implement economic reforms have earned his confidence. He pledged to work towards securing a strong electoral victory for the President in Taraba during the 2027 polls.
On the choice of his deputy governorship candidate, Bwacha explained that Engr. Zakari was selected based on competence, integrity, and a proven record of service rather than political considerations.
According to him, the decision reflects his commitment to merit-based leadership and the inclusion of young professionals in governance, expressing confidence that Zakari possesses the experience and character needed to help deliver effective leadership for the state.
Bwacha also took a swipe at the Taraba State Government, alleging that despite increased federal allocations, residents have seen little corresponding development while the state's debt profile continues to rise.
He called on the people of Taraba to reject politics driven by ethnicity and religion, insisting that lasting development can only be achieved through unity, inclusive governance, and accountability.
The PDP governorship candidate further promised that, if elected, his administration would focus on agriculture, quality education, healthcare, infrastructure development, job creation, and transparent governance aimed at restoring public trust and improving the welfare of the people.
