Social media activist and leader of the Ratel Movement, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on Thursday led hundreds of supporters in a peaceful protest across different parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, demanding urgent action over Nigeria's worsening insecurity and the immediate rescue of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State.

The protesters marched to Ministry of Defense and other locations in Abuja  carrying placards and chanting slogans such as:
"Tinubu must go!"
"Bandits must go!"
"Terrorists must go!"
"Bring back our children!"
Fresh from his recent trip to China, VeryDarkMan accused the Federal Government of failing to adequately protect Nigerians from the growing wave of kidnappings and violent attacks across the country.

Addressing the crowd, VDM expressed frustration over the continued abduction of innocent citizens, particularly schoolchildren, insisting that the government must prioritize the safety of lives above politics He questions the defense minster with the budget allocated to the ministry without securing the citizens.

The protest comes amid national outrage following the kidnapping of dozens of pupils and teachers during coordinated attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. Reports indicate that armed men invaded multiple schools, abducting students and members of staff, while at least one teacher was killed during the attacks.

Families of the victims have continued to plead with authorities to secure the safe return of their loved ones, with many declaring that they do not want financial assistance but simply want their children back home safely.

During the Abuja demonstration, members of the Ratel Movement called on security agencies to intensify rescue operations and bring those responsible for the attacks to justice. They also urged Nigerians to rise above ethnic and political divisions to demand accountability from leaders at all levels.

Despite the emotionally charged chants and criticism directed at the government, the protest remained largely peaceful, with security operatives monitoring the situation. No arrests or major incidents were reported as the demonstrators continued their march.

The latest protest highlights the growing public concern over insecurity in Nigeria, as kidnapping-for-ransom, once concentrated in parts of northern Nigeria, increasingly spreads to other regions of the country.

As pressure mounts on the authorities, many Nigerians say the message from the streets is clear:
"Bring back our children. Protect Nigerian lives. End insecurity now."

The protest follows widespread public anger over the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State, where families have continued to demand urgent government intervention and the safe return of the victims
