Gassol LG Intensifies Security Efforts as Vice Chairperson Leads High-Level Stakeholders' Meeting

A high-level security meeting aimed at strengthening peace and addressing emerging security concerns in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State was successfully convened on Wednesday at the Gassol Local Government Secretariat.
The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chairperson of Gassol Local Government, Hon. Ladi Ishaya, who led discussions with traditional rulers and security agencies on strategies to safeguard lives and property across the local government.
Among those in attendance were the Chief of Mutum Biyu, the Chief of Sansani, representatives of the Chief of Gassol, the District Heads of Sendirde, the Area Commander of the Nigeria Army, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) from the Mutum Biyu and Gassol Police Divisions, as well as commanders of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Marshall units.
The stakeholders engaged in extensive deliberations on the prevailing security situation in the area, identifying key challenges and exploring practical solutions to enhance intelligence sharing, strengthen community collaboration, and improve rapid response mechanisms against criminal activities.
Hon. Ladi Ishaya reaffirmed the commitment of the Gassol Local Government administration to working closely with traditional institutions and security agencies to maintain peace and stability within the council area. She emphasized that security remains a collective responsibility and called on residents to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information.
The meeting concluded with a renewed resolve among all stakeholders to sustain regular consultations and coordinated actions aimed at preventing security threats and ensuring the safety of communities across Gassol Local Government Area.
