Award-winning Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed plans to return to school as he prepares to pursue a Master’s degree in Political Science at a university in the United Kingdom next year.
The singer made the announcement during a recent livestream, where he spoke about his future plans beyond music. Davido clarified that the programme would not be at Adeleke University, despite speculation from fans.
“I want to do my Master’s next year… in the UK. A one-year course in Political Science. I already have my BSc,” the singer said during the live session.
The announcement has generated massive reactions online, with many fans praising the music star for prioritizing education despite his global success in the entertainment industry. Others believe his interest in Political Science may be connected to his growing involvement in politics and governance discussions in Nigeria.
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, graduated from Babcock University in 2015 and has often spoken about the importance of education and personal development.
The singer also comes from the influential Adeleke political family. His uncle, Ademola Adeleke, currently serves as the Governor of Osun State, while Davido himself has actively participated in political campaigns in recent years.
Although Davido has not yet disclosed the specific UK university he plans to attend, fans across social media have described the move as inspiring, saying it proves that learning never stops regardless of fame, wealth, or career achievements.
