Alleged Fake Tinubu Audio Triggers Online Uproar, Calls Intensify for VDM’s Arrest

There is growing controversy on social media following the circulation of an alleged audio recording purportedly linked to Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The recording, which many have since described as fake or manipulated, has triggered widespread reactions and heated debate across various online platforms.
The development has placed social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), at the center of the storm. Critics have accused him of amplifying or being associated with the controversial audio, prompting calls from some quarters for his immediate arrest.

Several users and commentators argue that the spread of unverified or misleading content, especially involving a sitting president, could incite public unrest and undermine national stability. As a result, hashtags and posts demanding accountability have continued to trend.
However, supporters of VDM have pushed back against the calls, describing them as an attempt to silence dissenting voices and restrict freedom of expression. They insist that due process must be followed and that any allegations should be thoroughly investigated before conclusions are drawn.

As of now, there has been no official statement from government authorities or law enforcement agencies confirming the authenticity of the audio or announcing any legal action.

The situation remains fluid, with Nigerians closely watching for further developments as debates over misinformation, digital responsibility, and freedom of speech continue to intensify.
