FROM FIVE YEARS TO SIX: ELISHA NUHU SABO CELEBRATES B.TECH ARCHITECTURE GRADUATION FROM ATBU

A journey marked by delays, perseverance, sleepless nights, and faith in God has culminated in a major academic milestone for Elisha Nuhu Sabo, popularly known as Cansila, who has graduated with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Architecture from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.

In an emotional reflection on his academic journey, Elisha thanked Almighty God for sustaining him through the challenges and bringing him to the completion of his university education.

According to his account, what was initially expected to be a five-year academic programme extended into six years, with the journey marked by university strikes, delays, demanding academic schedules, and the challenges of studying Architecture.

He recounted the sleepless nights spent on architectural drawings, calculations and intensive reading, alongside the pressure of difficult design juries and the repeated trips from Jalingo to Bauchi throughout his studies.

Beyond the academic demands, Elisha also spoke about the emotional challenges of watching others graduate before him, despite having gained admission to the university earlier. Nevertheless, he remained determined to continue, drawing strength from his faith and the support of those around him.

Reflecting on the people who contributed to his success, Elisha expressed appreciation to his parents, Hon. Nuhu Sabo and Mrs. Deborah Nuhu, as well as his family, friends, mentors, coursemates, well-wishers, and everyone who supported him throughout the journey.

He acknowledged their prayers, sacrifices, kindness, and encouragement, describing their contributions as invaluable to his academic achievement.

Although he admitted that he might never be able to repay everyone who stood by him, he offered prayers for God's abundant blessings upon them.

Elisha's experience highlights the realities many university students face in pursuing higher education, particularly when academic programmes extend beyond their expected duration due to strikes, institutional delays and other challenges.

His achievement serves as a reminder that difficult circumstances do not necessarily mean the end of a dream. With perseverance, determination and support, students can continue working towards their goals despite setbacks.

As he celebrates this milestone, Elisha gives all the glory to Almighty God, crediting divine grace as the force that sustained him through the demanding years of his academic journey.
